Rochester Independent College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Drama Teacher to join our Performing Arts department, delivering lessons across all key stages from Year 7 to Year 13. Essential to this role is proven experience in teaching and assessing the BTEC qualification. While not mandatory, experience preparing students for LAMDA or Trinity examinations is highly desirable, as is the ability to teach English up to A-Level. Beyond classroom teaching, the post holder will play an integral role in supporting the department's extra-curricular activities, including the running of whole-school productions. Rochester Independent College was founded as a sixth form college in 1984 and offers a fresh alternative to traditional independent education. There is no uniform and students and teachers are on first name terms. Today, Rochester Independent College (RIC) has 425 students from the age of 11 and offers places for boarders from the age of 14.
Classes are small, with an average of 8 students per group. The College offers a full secondary education from Year 7 to sixth form and specialises in intensive one-year A level and GCSE courses. The College has a strong track record of excellent results on retake A level and GCSE courses for students aiming at competitive university courses, including Medicine, Law, Veterinary Science and Dentistry.
