Job description
Overview

ASOS is the online retailer for fashion lovers worldwide. The Tax team focuses on the tax transformation agenda including process improvement and automation across Direct tax, Indirect tax, Customs and Employment taxes. The role covers the design and improvement of tax processes and the tax control framework, including automation strategies to ensure compliance and minimise time spent on manual processes. It reports to the Head of Tax Transformation and supports business growth initiatives and data requirements for tax audits. The Tax Transformation team works closely with Finance, Technology and Governance teams as well as outside advisors to ensure appropriate management and controls.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Head of Tax Transformation to drive continuous process and control improvements. Deliver effective and efficient solutions. Design effective controls. Standardise and document processes.
  • Work with the business to understand and support business initiatives and associated change impacts, from requirements through to successful implementation to ensure compliance and appropriate tax data delivery.
  • Support in delivery of solutions to meet reporting obligations and empower staff to make better business decisions. Ensure disciplined approach to change management, with regular communication to key stakeholders and knowledge transfer.
  • Support tax audit data requests.
  • Drive engagement and development across the tax function of how to enact process, data, system and people change to improve tax processes.
  • Manage process for country by country reporting (CBCR).
  • Stay closely linked to external best practice in areas such as automation and data solutions.
  • Prepare tax control framework documentation, ensuring ongoing and effective controls design and testing.

Qualifications
  • A tax accounting qualification (preferably ATT, ACCA or ACA).
  • Experience delivering on tax transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience of working closely with Tech delivery teams as well as Tax / Finance / relevant business stakeholders.
  • Functional knowledge and experience across both direct and indirect taxes, particularly in compliance.
  • Financial process understanding and experience at an operational level in tax department.
  • A proven ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • A high standard of accuracy with financial data.
  • Ability to find solutions and take initiative.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and results-focused.
  • Experience of Alteryx, SQL and Power Platform Tools would be an advantage.
  • Good communication/interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity with a can-do attitude.
