Responsibilities
  • Respond to incidents, problem reports and inquiries in a timely manner. Determine the appropriate course of action and / or system changes required to resolve them.
  • Participates in identifying research discrepancies and recommend potential improvements for better utilization of software applications to satisfy company and business units needs.
  • Contributes in the maintenance of a wide range of strategic financial regulatory safety and reputational impactful applications.
  • Effectively develop implement and unit test solutions to meet corporate policies cyber business and system requirements. Maintenance may consist of bug fixes configuration system administration operating system and application patching maintenance releases technical upgrades and enhancements.
  • Monitor strategic enterprise production systems including reviewing server logs to help identify and resolve problems in order to prevent negative impacts to internal employees or external customers.
  • Liaisons bProcess Analysts Software Vendors and other services groups) in order to resolve application problems or ensure the smooth operation of corporate software applications.
  • Undertake specific tasks or projects as assigned by the Manager (e.g. purchase requisitions variance / accrual reporting internal and external audit requests).
  • Ability to learn and master new technology and is personally committed to continuously improve through self-development.
  • Perform duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the evaluation of the job.
  • Travel to various operating units as required in support of company and departmental objectives.
Requirements
  • 2 year Diploma in Computer Engineering Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience related work experience.
  • Valid BC drivers license
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to share knowledge and skills with others.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute task in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to multi-task deadline-driven tasks
  • Proficient with computer systems and related programs including Microsoft Office Access SharePoint and Visio.
  • Strong attention to detail with focus on ensuring the delivery of high quality accurate and reliable data
  • Good to detailed understanding and experience in:
    • Demonstrated ability with technologies such as HTML JavaScript CSS C# programming. framework and PHP
    • Experience in SQL queries using Microsoft SQL Server and / or Oracle databases
    • Experience in Linux and Microsoft operating systems
