Job description

A leading international business with head offices close to Norwich is seeking to recruit a Systems Accountant on a contract basis for up to 9 months. This role focuses on improving financial processes, ensuring data integrity, and delivering actionable insights by leveraging newly implemented and future finance systems. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance financial operations and streamline reporting.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain and oversee the financial systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for system‑related issues, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with IT and external vendors for system upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Analyse current financial workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Design and implement automation solutions to enhance efficiency in reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within financial systems.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance financial reports, dashboards, and metrics to support decision‑making.
  • Provide training to finance and non‑finance staff on using financial systems effectively.
  • Develop user guides, training materials, and system documentation.
  • Participate in financial system implementation projects, including requirement gathering, testing, and deployment.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Professional certification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, combining accounting and financial systems expertise.
  • Strong proficiency in financial software and databases, ideally within an international business and experience working with ERP/CRM systems.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices.

This position is offered with an immediate start. Preference is a full‑time contract with a full benefits package. Hybrid working is offered with at least 3 days on site with close access and parking from the A11.
