A leading European logistics provider in Whitfield is looking for a System Engineer Hypervisor to manage and enhance their virtualisation and Wintel environments. The role involves technical ownership of hypervisor platforms and supporting both operations and strategic projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMWare and Hyper-V, along with strong automation skills in PowerShell. You will also benefit from various perks like life assurance cover, contributory pension schemes, and professional development opportunities.
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a System Engineer Hypervisor.
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and enhancing DFDS’ virtualisation and Wintel environments across multiple locations. You’ll take technical ownership of core hypervisor platforms, support complex Windows and Active Directory infrastructures, and contribute to both ongoing operations and strategic projects. With a strong focus on reliability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing, you’ll help ensure our systems remain stable, secure, and ready to support the wider business.
You’re an experienced and forward‑thinking IT professional with deep expertise in virtualisation technologies, particularly within VMWare (VCF stack) and Hyper‑V environments. Your strong scripting and automation skills in PowerShell, combined with broad Wintel knowledge, enable you to streamline operations and solve complex technical challenges efficiently. Experience with storage technologies or cloud IaaS is a bonus, and you’re always eager to expand your skill set.
You thrive in a fast‑paced environment where priorities can shift, and you’re confident making clear decisions about what needs attention first. You understand the realities of working within a large enterprise setup and navigate its structures effectively. With an analytical and structured approach, you adapt quickly to change – whether that’s evolving business needs or a move to a new hypervisor platform.
You show initiative, take ownership of your work, and contribute proactively to the team. Clear communication comes naturally to you, and you connect well with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. Above all, you remain curious, continuously staying up to date with emerging technologies relevant to your field.
