Job description

The Surveyor role will undertake valuations and reporting with a key responsibility for valuation report writing. This role will work primarily within the Metropolitan Valuation Team, a new division focusing on small to mid‑sized loan security valuations of both commercial and residential assets. This an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team from the ground up where your expertise, ideas, and initiative will directly influence how the division evolves and succeeds. You'll be working alongside a dynamic team of professionals who are shaping the identity and culture of this new division - a rare chance to make your mark within a forward‑thinking organisation. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with flexibility to work remotely with minimal days in the office to be discussed, giving you the balance between autonomy and in‑person collaboration.

  • Conduct valuation and advisory work, alongside senior members of the team, for loan security purposes.
  • Conduct physical property inspections and assist senior valuers in other, more complex inspections.
  • Collaborate with members of the London and Hyderabad Valuation team on the valuation process
  • Manage opportunity records up to execution
  • Identify and incorporate relevant data and technical reports into property due diligence.
  • Select appropriate comparables, performing analysis, and drawing conclusions.
  • Perform valuation modelling calculations and analysis and support for senior valuers on more complex valuations. Set up properties, units and tenants when required.
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Complete 'activate' set up in TOPS2.
  • Close liaison with clients ensuring high quality advice is consistently delivered.
  • Support senior members of the team with business development, RFPs and pitch activities.
  • QRM compliance.
  • Gather and share relevant market intelligence and support senior members of the team with other value‑add tasks.

    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Real Estate, Surveying, or a related field.
  • MRICS qualified or equivalent
  • Knowledge of property valuation methodologies and techniques
  • Proficiency in using valuation software and tools, such as Argus Enterprise & Developer and Excel
  • Basic understanding of property market trends and factors influencing property values
  • Basic knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in property valuation
  • Willingness to learn and develop professional skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and support senior valuers, but is also able to operate autonomously in an efficient and productive manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues
  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Enjoys working under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment,
  • Ability to prioritise and coordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Valid UK driving licence.
