Overview
Role: Surveyor. Accountabilities, Pattern: Site based 10 and 4 rotation. Altrad is a leading provider of infrastructure services focused on delivering critical engineering and construction services for onshore and offshore industries, with a presence in the nuclear sector. This role supports setting out and surveying activities for Specialist Projects, including equipment layout, as-built surveys, and calibration checks in accordance with design tolerances and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Complete setting out surveys prior to equipment arriving on site for layout of temporary and permanent equipment, then support installation teams to final locate equipment and conduct post-install location surveys for as-built drawings to ensure compliance with designed tolerances.
- Ensure all surveying activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
- Provide input for progress reporting on surveying activities within the Erection Area.
- Review supplied setting out data to check design coordinates against the site grid system for compatibility.
- Provide quality checks on control setups and point accuracy.
- Report any issues, concerns, or observations to the Altrad Specialist Projects Management.
- Ensure all surveying activities are executed in line with relevant specifications.
- Set out equipment for Specialist Projects including Neutron/Gamma doors, Standard Doors, APC/Security doors, Grids and Blast Dampers.
- Provide accurate datum points for installations relating to Specialist Projects equipment.
- Conduct as-built surveys of installed equipment.
- Undertake periodic instrument calibration checks.
- Attend relevant site meetings with project stakeholders.
Key Deliverables
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements.
- Provide dimensional control during the erection of equipment.
- Produce "As-built" surveys of equipment foundations, including cast anchors and embedded plates.
- Provide certified and calibrated surveying equipment (dependent on contractual arrangements).
- Ensure all survey equipment is in calibration and that field checks are carried out at regular intervals, maintaining a log.
- Use core experience and surveying skills to assess practicalities and dimensional control associated with surveying activities.
- Surveying or Engineering qualifications or suitable experience.
- Strong setting-out experience.
- Experience in the use of survey equipment (Total Station, digital level, 3D scanners) and the production of survey reports. Cyclone and AUTOCAD software experience preferred.
- Conversant with all related legislation, codes, and standards.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations.
- Experience in MS Office - Excel, Word.
