Surgical Robotics Software Lead Engineer - Cambridge - Perm

Location: Cambridge, UK (On-site 5 days a week)

Our client, a global advisory and product development company, is seeking a Surgical Robotics Software Lead Engineer in the Cambridge area.

Your expertise in surgical robotics, software coding, and technical project management will be essential. You will be responsible for implementing advanced surgical robotic software control systems, leading a team of software engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Surgical Robotics Software Lead Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and development of surgical robotic software systems for client projects.
2. Design and develop software applications and control algorithms for surgical robotics systems using Object-Oriented languages (C# and C++) and/or Embedded C.
3. Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and systems engineers to integrate software with hardware components and mechanical robotics platforms.

Surgical Robotics Software Lead Engineer Skills:

1. Proven experience leading surgical robotic software development following medical development processes.
2. Experience designing software for Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
3. Proficiency in modern Object-Oriented languages (C#, C++) and Embedded C.
4. Solid understanding of robotics principles, including kinematics, dynamics, control theory, robotics frameworks, middleware communication, and digital position controllers.
