Overview

Support Worker / Personal Assistant for Cian – East Kilbride

Part-time | £12.60 per hour | Saturdays | 5 hours per week

Are you someone with energy, patience and a real passion for helping others?

Cian is a vibrant individual who enjoys an active lifestyle and thrives on engaging experiences. He is predominantly non-verbal, fully mobile, and requires support to stay safe due to a lack of danger awareness. You’ll be his guide, advocate and helping hand as he navigates both new and familiar spaces.

We’re looking for a Male or Female Support Worker to work 1:1 with Cian, a young person with complex autism living in the East Kilbride area.

This is a permanent role with guaranteed hours, offering the opportunity to support someone in a truly meaningful and hands-on way.

Your Role

You’ll support Cian in the community, helping him participate in fun, stimulating activities that promote confidence and independence. You’ll be hands-on, encouraging and proactive.

Your duties
  • Providing personal care (including toileting and bowel care)
  • Supporting with ordering food, handling money, and daily routines
  • Attending social and leisure activities such as
  • — Swing parks, swimming, library visits, art, horse riding, outdoor play (muddy fun included!)
  • — Sensory experiences, music, and trips to cafés
  • Ensuring Cian’s safety in all environments
  • Offering hand-over-hand guidance and helping him grow confidence with new tasks or settings
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with complex autism is essential
  • A driver with access to your own vehicle (mileage paid)
  • Someone active, creative, patient – with a good sense of humour
  • A warm, friendly, and supportive nature is key
  • Able to join in physical activities and think on your feet
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Job Details
  • Permanent role – 5 hours per week
  • Standard shift: Saturday, 12pm–5pm
  • Flexible – can be moved to Sunday or a weekday during school holidays
  • Pay: £12.60 per hour
  • Full training will be provided
