Job summary

A community care organization based in Telford is seeking Support Workers to provide practical and emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities and complex care needs. The role is full-time, up to 40 hours per week, and focuses on empowering clients to achieve their goals while respecting their individuality. We are recruiting Support Workers/Carers in Telford to support people to live in and be part of the local community, within a supported living environment. Our services are about helping people to get out in the community and make the most of their time in their own homes. Whilst fully embracing the company ethos, support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Job title: Support Worker

Hours: Full-time (up to 40 hours per week)

Location: Telford (TF2)

The role
  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • Complete a range of records and documents as part of the role.
  • Each person we support has 1-to-1 support.
  • Work lone and team‑working, ensuring consistency and safety at all times.
  • Although a driving licence is not an essential requirement, it is desirable.

Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and/or complex care is preferred but all training will be provided.
