About The Role

We are recruiting Support Workers/Carers in Seaham, near Sunderland to support people to live in and be part of the local community within a supported living environment. Our services help people get out into the community and make the most of their time in their own homes.

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos, support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Job title: Support Worker

Hours: 36 hours per week

Location: Gateshead

Shifts: Days, evenings, nights, weekends

The role
  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
  • Each person we support has 1 to 1 support.
  • Lone working and team-working.

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?

Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and/or complex care is preferred but all training will be provided.

About The Service

Our supported living services in the North currently consist of 13 individual homes, which are occupied as solo tenancies or dual tenancies. Our services are currently situated in Gateshead, South Tyneside, Durham and Middlesbrough.
