Do you want to make a difference to someone’s life? Do you think you could help people to reach their full potential?

We want to ensure people with disabilities have opportunities to achieve the same as everyone else; a home of their own, something meaningful to do and someone to love. Our role is to provide creative and sustainable support which enables people to live active and healthy lives in their local communities in ways that they choose. Our Core Values guide how we work and inform our decision making. As an organisation we are in a good place, we have a great team, and we are excited about our plans for the future.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our Short Breaks Team at Surrey Choices, to be based in a new, purpose-built site in Woking. You will provide hands on support and work with people who have a diverse range of needs using a person-centred approach to ensure you work towards clear personal outcomes and goals. We are currently working in partnership with Surrey County Council to deliver on their vision for quality Short Breaks for people with Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, through the development of two state of the art, purpose built overnight services.

As a Support Worker you will deliver care and support in accordance with the customers expressed wants and wishes and contribute to regularly reviewing customer support plans and risk assessments. You will ensure you are compliant with current legislation, policies, procedures and CQC fundamental standards.

You will also manage medication safely and appropriately and ensure the safe handling, dispensing, administration and recording of medication.

Working well within a team, you will demonstrate a practical understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment and confidentiality.

You will be working flexibly over a seven-day period: with a mixture of shifts varying between long-days (7:30-20:15 pm), late shifts (14-20:15 pm), and an early shift (7:30-14:15pm). You will also be required to work every other weekend and there may be occasional sleep in duties required as part of the role.

  • A willingness to learn
  • A passion for creating diverse communities
