Job summary

A supportive housing organization in West Midlands is seeking a Support Worker to assist adults with complex support needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining care and a relevant qualification in health and social care. This role offers competitive hourly pay and various employee benefits including generous annual leave and a life assurance programme. Qualifications

  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care required.
  • Knowledge of the rights of people with learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a professional relationship with tenants.
  • Assist tenants with personal hygiene and care.
  • Record and maintain accurate information regarding care.

Skills

Support Worker

Hourly Pay : £12.62 per hour

Overview

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to support the provision of our service at our Whitepoplar scheme where we support adults with complex support needs, with opportunities to join the team on a permanent, part time basis. For this particular scheme, we are seeking to appoint individuals who are willing and able to work weekends.

Responsibilities
  • To develop a professional relationship with Tenants and help them to develop a sense of identity and self-esteem.
  • To assist Tenants with personal hygiene and care as necessary.
  • To assist with all domestic duties for tenants as necessary.
  • To escort tenants to and from outside activities when necessary or required.
  • To be aware at all times of tenants’ individual needs and assist in developing appropriate care and support plans to meet these needs.
  • To ensure any concerns relating to tenants or issues raised by tenants are reported without delay to senior staff.
  • To record and maintain accurate and timely information with regards to medication, care and daily events.
  • To cover any sleep-in duties as and when required.
Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities
  • Experience of maintaining budgets and handling money.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Knowledge of the needs and requirements of those with learning disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the rights of people with learning disabilities and how these can be promoted.
  • Understanding of the Supporting People and Quality Assessment Framework.

Desirable

  • Full UK Drivers License.
  • Previous experience working for a not for profit / charitable organisation.
