Overview

Support Worker – Merseyside Area

Hours: Part time, 25 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £15,600 per annum

Are you passionate about making a difference? Merseyside Society for Deaf People is looking for a Support Worker to join our friendly team, where you will provide vital support to Deaf and Deaf-Blind adults living in Liverpool, Wirral and Sefton.

You will deliver a person-centred service that helps make everyday life easier for our clients, supporting them in their homes and communities. If you are dedicated, compassionate, and excited about this rewarding role, we’d love to receive an application from you!

Responsibilities
  • Support clients to live independently in the community

  • Assist clients with accessing services and activities
  • Assist clients with translation of letters and telephone calls
Essential Criteria
  • Experienced in Deafblind communication skills
  • Ability to guide Deafblind clients
  • Cheerful and patient attitude to work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • British Sign Language skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding
  • Driver with access to a car, which is insured for business use
Desirable Criteria
  • BSL Level 2 qualification
