The focus of this role is to promote Sophie's independence, confidence and self‑help skills. You will support her to take part in activities alongside her peers, explore new hobbies and enjoy weekends filled with fun experiences such as swimming, shopping and visits to amusement parks. Sophie enjoys staying connected with friends through social media, so confidence in supporting safe and appropriate use of platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Facebook is essential.
Ideal for a university student, teaching assistant, SEN nanny or mentor seeking a rewarding weekend role. You'll be creative, flexible, tech‑savvy and enjoy working within a family home. Applicants must be drivers with their own car.

Driving Requirements: Yes, own car essential (mileage paid when used on duty). Essential: Experience as an SEN Buddy, Mentor, Teacher, Teaching Assistant or similar.
Confident using social media apps (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook). Able to cook healthy, nutritious meals.
Sophie is a bright, funny and determined 10‑year‑old who loves musical theatre, singing and performing. Born prematurely, Sophie developed Retinopathy of Prematurity and has a profound visual impairment. She attends a mainstream primary school with an EHCP and is making excellent progress academically and socially. Sophie currently receives weekday support and is now looking to expand her team for weekend support.
