Job description

The Priory Ogilvie Court is looking to recruit Support Worker's to join their team. This is a full time, permanent contract.

• Full Time, 37.5hrs p/week (X3 Shifts every week including alternating weekends)
• Shift Times: 08.00 - 20.30
• Must be able to drive to site as no public transport links nearby / do not align with shifts.
• Must have full Manual UK licence for over 3 years as you will need to drive company site vehicle

Ogilvie Court is located in Earls Colne, near Colchester. It offers residential support for 25 people with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, and other associated needs. We can also support people who are on the autism spectrum and those who have physical disabilities. We are in a rural location, surrounded by lovely views and beautiful countryside. Our team are dedicated to providing the people we care for with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to peoples lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to ourresidents wellbeing. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.

As aSupport Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you'll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

• Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
• Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
• Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
• Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
• Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well‑being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
• Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
