Bank Support Worker – Young Adults Homeless Shelter

Location: Burnley

Salary: £12.21

Hours: Bank casual work, Days and nights available, Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance

Contract: As and when required

Essential Requirements
  • Experience supporting young adults with complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse, and behavioural challenges
  • Ability to work safely in high‑pressure and crisis situations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow care plans and safeguarding protocols
  • Resilience, reliability, and commitment to providing high‑quality care
  • Due to the nature of personal care and safeguarding requirements, this post is restricted to women only. This is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 to ensure safe, dignified, and appropriate support
The Role
  • Provide safe, consistent support to young adults experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their accommodation
  • Deliver person‑centred care and emotional support during periods of crisis
  • Assist with daily living tasks, life skills, and activities to promote independence
  • Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Promote safety, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for all residents
