Support Worker

At Paxton House we support people between the ages of 18-35 with a range of needs including learning disabilities, behaviours that are perceived to be challenging, non-verbal communication and / or autistic spectrum disorders.

Paxton House is a modern, bright and well-equipped working environment based in Borrowash, just outside Derby.

  • Waking nights 40 hours per week.
  • 9 pm to 7 am, 4 nights per week. Will involve working weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting individuals with their personal, physical, and emotional needs throughout the night.
  • Completion of nightly duties, including domestic and administrative tasks.
  • Undertaking training online and face to face where necessary.

  • Will require working weekends and bank holidays.
Qualifications
  • Shifts can change to suit the needs of the people we support, so flexibility is a must.
  • The successful candidate will have the aptitude, desire, and commitment to work in social care with adults with a variety of needs.
  • Flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Motivated and a team player.
  • Experience working in a social care setting supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism is preferred, but not essential.
