Job description
Support Worker (Residential / College no personal care)

Location: Cranborne, Dorset

Salary: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour (£23,207.85 - £25,309.13 per year, depending on experience & qualifications)

Hours: 12‑hour shifts, 8am‑8pm, averaging 42 hours per week across 34 shifts (including every other weekend)

Contract: Permanent, Term‑time only

Responsibilities
  • Support students with morning routines and encourage independence
  • Help students stay focused and engaged in their learning
  • Provide emotional and social support where needed
  • Act as a key liaison for parents and carers
  • Support students in developing life skills such as cooking, budgeting, and travel
  • Join in with evening activities and encourage participation
Qualifications & Requirements
  • No prior experience required – full training is provided plus a fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Positive, proactive, and creative attitude
  • Willingness to encourage independence rather than doing tasks for students
  • Ability to provide supportive guidance and emotional encouragement
  • Must hold a driving licence and have access to transport (rural location)
  • Applicants must be aged 21+
