Job description
Overview

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

Job Title: Support Medical Secretary/Trauma & Orthopaedics

Location: Royal Stoke University Hospital, UHNM

Hours: 30 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • The post holder is required to support the Medical Secretary Team Leader in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team.
  • Involved in inpatient waiting list management for a specialty, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and typing correspondence and/or transcribing and typing up of minutes as appropriate.
  • Take direction from the Medical Secretary Team Leader and Operational Services Manager for the day to day running of the service.
  • Manage own time and prioritise workload to ensure clinical letters are accurately typed in chronological order/clinical priority.
  • Work well under pressure in a busy work environment.
  • Support the Medical Secretary Team Leader and specialty team in the delivery of inpatient waiting list management, taking into account application of national RTT rules and assistance in the appropriate utilisation of theatres.
