Position Overview

AWE have an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Operations Specialist to join our growing Supplier Management Team. This would suit an individual with excellent attention to detail, with experience setting up and maintaining data records.

As the Supplier Operations Specialist, you will provide specialist support to the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Sub Function across processes, systems, supplier management, governance and reporting. You will build strong relationships with various teams across the business, as well as new and existing suppliers and work closely with Category Managers in support of tenders, to help determine the correct question sets to be asked.

Previous experience in supplier management or supply chain is not essential. If you have transferable skills and experience of creating and maintaining records, such as, customer, personnel, public etc, we would like to hear from you.

You will be required to provide technical expertise in one or more of the following specialisms:

  • Contribute to the development of best practice processes and systems
  • Management of approved suppliers including supplier records and due diligence activities
  • Governance tasks as required in support of AWE Supply Chain Management policies, processes and systems
  • Developing and maintaining working relationships and awareness with key internal stakeholders

Specific responsibilities will depend on the specialism but may include:

  • Supplier on-boarding and record management
  • Ensuring Supply Chain processes, tools and systems are understood and adhered to
  • Support and contribute to reviews of SCM processes and systems and provide user training if required
  • Manage and maintain SCM data e.g. contractual/supplier records and/or document libraries
  • Provision of both standard and bespoke business reports in accordance with the functional governance schedule or as required by Line/Task Manager
  • Promoting and ensuring the use of a fully evaluated and approved supply base
  • Working with key stakeholders to ensure the speedy resolution of queries
  • Supporting change and championing best practice to promote the SCM function

Location & Salary

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

Starting salary from £27,360 to £31,000 depending on experience.

Hybrid Working & Security

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
