Supplier Lead Auditor

- Location: Hybrid
- 1 day per month in Bristol
- Regular travel to supplier sites across the UK & EU (approx. 2 weeks per month)
- Pay Rate:
- up to £375 per day PAYE / £509.70 per day Umbrella
The Role
As Supplier Lead Auditor, you will be responsible for planning, delivering and reporting supplier audits across a global supply chain. Using established audit processes, you will provide confidence that contractual, regulatory and quality requirements are understood and effectively implemented.
You’ll work closely with quality, supply chain assurance, inspection, environmental and health & safety teams, contributing to continuous improvement and management reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a risk-based Supplier Audit Programme
- Define audit scope, objectives and criteria in collaboration with project stakeholders
- Conduct audits to ISO 9001 and project-specific requirements
- Identify, categorise and manage audit findings (Non-Conformances & Observations)
- Produce high-quality audit reports within agreed timescales
- Monitor corrective actions and ensure effective close-out
- Analyse audit data and contribute to dashboards and management reporting
- Liaise with certification bodies and integrated management system teams
- Share best practice and lessons learned with fellow auditors
- Support joint audit activities across aligned programmes where required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering supplier or manufacturing audits
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- Experience working across engineering, manufacturing or major infrastructure projects
- Ability to influence stakeholders and provide constructive challenge
- Excellent organisational, analytical and reporting skills
- Strong IT capability (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams)
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
Desirable
- Experience in nuclear, energy or other safety-critical industries
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 19443
- Understanding of regulatory environments
- Knowledge of special processes (e.g. Welding, NDT, PMI)
- Ability to speak French or another European language
