A regional healthcare trust in Herefordshire is looking for a Substantive Consultant Breast Surgeon to join their team. The role includes conducting breast outpatient assessments, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, and performing elective breast surgeries. Elective clinical commitments will include new patient Breast symptomatic clinic, a weekly Breast multidisciplinary meeting (which includes a video link to the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Breast Screening Service) and elective Breast Surgery/Clinics. Breast Oncoplasty training and experience are essential for this role.
There is a purpose built Oncology unit, The Macmillan-Renton Unit, with an attached Radiotherapy wing.
Breast outpatient clinics take place in dedicated Breast clinic rooms, which are equipped with ultrasound machines. One stop Breast assessment outpatient clinics are run by three surgeons (including this post), with assistance from Breast Radiologists.
The Breast reconstructive surgery service is also supported by Plastic Surgeons based at QEH, Birmingham.
The post-holder will not be expected to undertake elective or emergency children surgical care.
