A major NHS trust in London is seeking candidates for a sub-specialty training post in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. This role offers a fixed-term training opportunity lasting 24-36 months, focusing on advanced clinical skills and academic research. Ideal candidates will have at least five years of specialty training or an equivalent qualification. The position involves clinical duties, on-call responsibilities, and rotation among multiple hospitals.
Applications are invited for the above post which offers subspecialist training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. The clinical training is for a fixed period of minimum 2 years and is based at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
Applicants must either:
Hold a UK National Training Number (NTN), have completed at least five years of specialty training, and hold the MRCOG;
or
Already hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and be on the UK GMC Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with MRCOG or an equivalent qualification.
Applicants for a two-year training programme should have completed at least one year of relevant research training, leading either to a higher degree (MD/PhD) or to several significant peer reviewed publications, as stipulated by the RCOG sub-speciality Committee.
There is also the opportunity for suitable applicants without the necessary research experience to undertake a three-year training programme, which will include academic research.

This is an RCOG accredited subspecialty training post in Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
This is a fixed-term post for 24-36 months, depending on academic background and experience of the post-holder.
The post-holder must meet the RCOG requirements for entry to subspecialty training (ST5-7/post-CCT or equivalent).
The post-holder will be based primarily at The Royal London Hospital (RLH) (80% of training) with rotations to Whipps Cross Hospital (WXH) and Newham University Hospital (NUH) (approximately 20% of training). The timing and duration of these placements will be
On call duties: The post-holder will begin on the senior register rota at 1:10 on calls. This is a 3-tier rota; there are 2 SHOs on call, a Junior registrar and a Senior registrar. The onsite obstetric consultant covers at The Royal London Hospital from 08:00-2200. There is a separate Gynaecology Consultant on call who is onsite from 08:00 -1700 and off-site from 17:00-08:00

The programme is organised into modular training blocks, covering all aspects of the MFM curriculum.
It can be undertaken as:
a 2-year traditional subspecialty programme, or
a 3-year academic programme (with dedicated research time).
The trainee will be supervised by Dr Elena Greco (Programme Supervisor), with input from other consultants across MFM, maternal medicine, high-risk obstetrics, gynaecology, and academic supervisors.
The programme will be tailored to the candidates clinical skills and research experience at entry. The weekly timetable will be adjusted according to the individual learning needs of the trainee including their research or academic activities.
