Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Section Engineer or Sub Agent for a prestigious rail project in the North East. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and rail, along with experience in managing subcontractors, quality control, and safety inspections. This position is immediately available for an individual confident in taking responsibility and managing site activities effectively. Candidates must have the necessary qualifications and be eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractors and engineers effectively.
  • Procure and order necessary materials.
  • Oversee quality control and safety assessments.
  • Produce weekly rolling programmes and progress reports.
  • Provide necessary support to site engineers.

Are you a Section Engineer or Sub Agent seeking their next role with an established Tier 1 Contractor? Would you like the opportunity to get involved in one of the most prestigious rail projects in the North East?

The role will include quality assessment, health and safety inspection, design issues and management of subcontractors. The successful candidate will be immediate and will be expected to be able to raise technical queries and run everyone on site efficiently.

Suitable candidates will come from a rail stations background.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Managing the sub-contractors and engineers
  • Procurement / ordering of materials
  • Quality Control of the works / Health and Safety
  • Production of weekly rolling programmes
  • Providing support to site engineers
  • Management of site activities
  • Progress reporting
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience of major civil/rail projects
  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • CSCS
  • CITB TWC - would be beneficial but not essential

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in civils and rail, be confident to work on their own and be immediately available.
