Job description
The Role

We're proud to be an approved StS provider, which gives our local authority clients and our tenants the confidence that the accommodation we provide is safe and of a good standard. As our StS engineer, you'll visit our properties across London to inspect them for compliance with StS standards, carrying out remedial maintenance as required. You'll also attend each property's annual StS inspection and will build a strong working relationship with the inspectors. You'll be part of a larger team of other field‑based maintenance multi‑traders, and office‑based coordinators to ensure that repairs are carried out promptly and effectively.

It's not essential to have previous experience of the StS scheme.

What will you be doing?
  • Attending properties to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance repairs, with work scheduled for you by your office‑based coordinator.
  • Completing jobs in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Registering job progress reports and completing job reports.
  • Accurate collation of data for each job (photos / videos).
  • Ensure planned maintenance and breakdown activities are monitored and any delays logged and escalated to the maintenance service team.
  • Ensure material and supply stock levels are maintained at all times within your vehicle.
  • Ensure that the highest levels of customer service are fully implemented to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Updating information on PDA system.
It’s essential that you :
  • Demonstrate substantial experience in multi‑skilled trade repairs and maintenance, particularly carpentry and plumbing, and ideally plastering.
  • Have experience with managing vulnerable individuals and managing HMO properties.
  • Have great communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external teams.
  • Driver’s license.
  • DBS / Police checked.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Working on own initiative without close supervision and as part of a team.
  • Work flexibly to meet the varying demands of the role in order to achieve agreed outcomes.
It’s an advantage if you :
  • Have knowledge and experience working in temporary and emergency accommodation.
  • Have experience of working in a similar StS related role.
  • Have experience of fire‑safety related work and repairs.
