Civil & Structural Engineer - Energy & Infrastructure
Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)
Sector: Energy, Nuclear, Renewables & Major Infrastructure
An established engineering and design consultancy is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to join its growing Energy & Infrastructure team, supporting a portfolio of complex and nationally significant projects across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work on major energy developments, including nuclear, renewable, and advanced industrial facilities, contributing directly to long-term infrastructure delivery and sustainability objectives. You will join a collaborative, technically strong team delivering safe, innovative, and sustainable engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved from early feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Civil and structural analysis and design for energy and infrastructure projects
  • Supporting bids, feasibility studies, and detailed design delivery
  • Preparing technical documentation including calculations, specifications, and design reports
  • Undertaking finite element modelling and structural verification
  • Participating in site visits, inspections, and design reviews
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements
  • Engaging with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes
About You

You will be technically capable, proactive, and comfortable working in a regulated engineering environment.

Essential
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Working towards or holding IEng or CEng status (support available)
  • Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles and standards
  • Experience using structural analysis and finite element software
  • Awareness of health, safety, and design risk management
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable
  • Experience within energy, nuclear, or other regulated sectors
  • Familiarity with UK nuclear licensing or similar regulatory processes
  • Experience working within BIM-enabled design environments
