Overview

Dudley Performing Arts are currently looking for an upper strings specialist to join the team on a fixed term contract of 18 hours per week (negotiable). The role offers access to the Teachers Pension Scheme.

Contract and Timing

Contract Type: Part-Time Permanent

Start Date: Immediate

Closing Date: 13 February 2026

Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group tuition (beginner to undergraduate level).
  • Provide whole-class instrumental teaching.
  • Work in special education settings if required.
  • Lead bands, choirs, and ensembles.
  • Contribute to the out-of-school Music School program at Cable Plaza.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High level of performance skills and an excellent knowledge base linked to bowed strings tuition.
  • General knowledge of music at an advanced level, and ability to communicate subject knowledge effectively.
  • Performance skills to post Grade 8 on the specialist instrument.
  • Practising musician actively involved in music making.
  • Experience or willingness to engage in education projects or teaching duties (voluntary or professional).
