About the Role

NatureScot is looking for an enthusiastic Nature Conservation Manager to lead the way in Islington. This is a two‑year fixed term opportunity focused on natural conservation in an urban environment.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop income streams for NatureScot initiatives.
  • Coordinate reporting on NNRs and prepare annual reports.
  • Support communication work including website, social media, external media responses.
  • Assist in developing new income streams and project management.
  • Provide advice and support on nature reserve management to operational NNR teams.
  • Collaborate with NNR staff to deliver ambitions for nature, biodiversity and sustainability.
Qualifications
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Scotland's environment and drivers influencing reserve management.
  • Good understanding of positive land management measures balancing conservation and access.
  • Experience in project management or solid understanding of project principles.
  • Creative and flexible approach with proven ability to adapt, solve problems and work in diverse teams.
  • Excellent verbal communication and engagement skills; ability to represent NatureScot externally and influence partners.
  • Relevant higher education degree or equivalent qualification / demonstrable experience.
  • Experience with IT systems including email, Word, Excel, GIS and website management.
  • Living and working in the UK, resident in Scotland, and able to undertake a Disclosure Scotland application.
Prerequisites

Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK and be resident in Scotland for the duration of the contract.
