Strategy Associate

The Strategy Associate plays a key role in enabling organizational alignment and strengthening the strategic planning process at Frontiers. The role supports design, coordination, and continuous improvement of company‑wide strategic planning activities, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across all levels of the organization. By developing frameworks that facilitate planning cycles and ensuring transparent stakeholder‑focused communication, the Strategy Associate helps translate strategic vision into actionable plans. The role also contributes to monitoring and analyzing progress against strategic goals, providing insights and recommendations that drive effective decision‑making and sustainable success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic communication: develop and implement communication channels to align strategic goals and initiatives across the organization.
  • Strategic planning processes: support the establishment and refinement of processes to develop, track, and review company‑wide and departmental strategies; create templates, frameworks, and tools for strategic planning and ensure consistent use.
  • Strategic events: support planning, coordination, and execution of key strategic and corporate events (e.g., leadership off‑sites, strategic reviews, and business planning sessions) and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: act as a liaison between the strategy team and other departments to ensure understanding and alignment on strategic priorities, gather feedback, surface challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analysis and recommendations: conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to evaluate existing strategies and identify areas for improvement; provide actionable, data‑driven recommendations and present findings clearly to various audiences.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning principles and organizational alignment, with experience in cross‑departmental collaboration.
  • Knowledge of scientific publishing industry workflows and metrics.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning tools such as OKRs, SWOT, or Balanced Scorecards.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and advanced skills in presentation and documentation (e.g., PowerPoint, process mapping).
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira); certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) or data analysis (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) considered assets.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and adaptability, with the ability to communicate strategic information clearly to varied audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills to support strategic events and planning cycles.
  • Minimum 24 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in strategy, business operations, management consulting, or a related analytical/project‑focused role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or related fields preferred but not mandatory.
