Responsibilities
  • Ensure hygiene and safety standards are maintained in accordance with department policies.
  • Correct and accurate completion of all documentation required for the effective maintenance of the department's Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system (e.g., fridge temperatures, food temperature logs, cleaning schedules).
  • Ensure the safe removal and storage of all associated delivery items including trolleys, pallets, trays, and tubs.
  • Maintenance of the computer stock control system including booking all goods in and all subsequent stock movements, ensuring accuracy to maintain stock level records.
  • Liaising with suppliers, dealing with order enquiries, delivery shortages (telephone, e-mail, etc.).
  • External ordering of departmental supplies ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Receiving and checking all goods inward (dry, chilled, and frozen) for accuracy and appropriate temperature control; signing drivers’ paperwork.
  • Check date codes on all goods received; ensure frozen and chilled goods are temperature controlled as soon as possible following receipt.
  • Accurately pick and assemble orders from requisitions, ensuring items are packed safely and delivered to the correct location in a timely fashion.
