Stores Operative

Full Time Permanent Role

Hayes Area

£27k - £30K Inclusive of Shift Premium

Hours of work Mon - Friday 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm Rotating Shifts

Our Client based in the Hayes area are looking to recruit a Stores Operative on a Full Time Permanent Basis. They are seeking a highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive Stores Operative to join their team. In this pivotal position, candidates will ensure the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of components, your work directly supports maintenance operations, ensuring technicians receive the right parts at the right time

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end handling of components, including accurate picking, packing, issuing, returning, and storage of parts in full compliance

Process all Goods In/Goods Out activities, verifying certification, part numbers, quantities, and condition, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the inventory management system.

Store, label, and segregate components correctly

Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, maintaining an audit-ready warehouse and promptly reporting any discrepancies, damage, or non-conforming materials.

Contribute to inventory accuracy, assisting with stock checks, cycle counts, and coordinating closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to ensure timely part availability.

Promote continuous improvement, supporting LEAN practices and maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.

Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Stores Team Leader to meet operational and production requirements

Education and Qualifications

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Experience and Knowledge

Basic computer literacy and numeracy skills; experience with inventory or ERP systems preferred.

Experience in an aviation maintenance or regulated warehousing environment is advantageous.

Personal Qualities

Highly self-motivated, reliable, and adaptable with a positive mindset.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Demonstrates initiative and a continuous improvement approach.

Background checks required for working in a known consignor area (if applicable).

Additional Requirements

Must have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.

Mandatory training (including safety, systems, and job-specific training) must be completed as required.
