Overview

Abbott Diabetes Care is seeking a Statistics Team Lead to join our Clinical Statistics team onsite in Witney. This is a unique opportunity to lead innovation in glucose monitoring technologies that improve lives globally.

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops, and manufactures leading-edge blood glucose monitoring technology for use in both home and hospital settings, including our Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System.

As a key member of our team, you’ll collaborate across R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory functions to drive data-informed decisions that enhance patient outcomes. You’ll lead a talented group of statisticians and SAS programmers in an inclusive environment that values continuous learning and professional growth.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Lead and mentor a team of statisticians, fostering a culture of collaboration and development.
  • Provide statistical expertise across our product portfolio, supporting both development and manufacturing.
  • Analyze data related to manufacturing, stability, and product performance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Design and support development trials and analytical test methods, translating statistical insights into actionable business and quality decisions.
  • Communicate complex statistical concepts clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
  • A BSc or higher in Statistics or Mathematics.
  • Experience in a regulated or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in SAS and/or R programming is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain statistical concepts to non-specialists.
  • A detail-oriented, adaptable mindset and a passion for problem-solving.
