Job description

Randstad C&P are seeking a Static Mechanical Engineer for an 8-week temporary contract in Dundee. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and proactive engineer to join a dynamic maintenance team.

As a key member of our client’s on-site team, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality property maintenance services. Your primary focus will be mechanical maintenance, but you'll also handle other property maintenance tasks within your skill set.

  • Location: Dundee
  • Contract: 8-week temporary position
  • Hours: 38-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Pay: Between £18 - £19 per hour
Responsibilities
  • Planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment, including pumps, valves, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), and associated pipework.
  • Routine inspections and repairs of systems, including basic steam systems and general plumbing.
  • Operating and monitoring the Building Management System to assist with fault diagnosis and ensure optimal performance.
  • Management of on-site sub-contractors and adherence to established health and safety procedures, including the use of Permit to Work systems.
  • Accurate documentation of all work carried out, maintaining maintenance records and updating the helpdesk system.
Qualifications
  • A qualified mechanical tradesperson i.e. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience in pipe-fitting and general property maintenance.
  • Experience in HVAC control systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental and building management systems (EMS/BMS).
  • Experience with L8 water management and Permit to Work systems.
  • Proficiency with various PC packages.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Must hold a current/active PVG.
