Overview

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Staff Nurse to join the Interventional Radiology team.

Location

University Hospital Southampton is one of England's largest acute teaching Trusts, located on the south coast with easy access to London via rail and the nearby international airport. The surrounding area offers the New Forest, South Downs and Jurassic Coast as attractive living options.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of individualised nursing care in accordance with agreed policies, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for individual patients.
  • Assist with Interventional Radiological Procedures, including scrub and circulating duties.
  • Administer IV sedation, analgesia and medication to patients undergoing elective and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor and recover patients following procedures.
  • Work Monday to Friday covering shifts from 08:00 to 19:00 and participate in the 24/7 on‑call rota once sufficient experience has been gained.
  • Provide rota flexibility to support the department’s expansion to 6–7 days per week.
  • Night duty is not a requirement.
