Job description
Overview

This post is open to Registered Nurses. A great opportunity has arisen for an RN to join the Hewitt Fertility Clinic in Liverpool. One full time position available.

Here you will work as part of a team delivering a high quality standard of care within the Hewitt Fertility Centre. Organise, facilitate, and monitor individualised patient care. Undertake the role of a link nurse within the department as and when required.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality nursing care within the fertility unit.
  • Assist at procedures e.g. egg collections.
  • Support recovery of patients after sedation and provide pre- and post-sedation care.
  • Assist at a variety of clinics, including infertility and IVF appointments.
  • Teach patients how to perform injections and explain treatment cycles, pathways and drugs involved.
  • Assist at ultrasound appointments and provide information following these appointments.
  • Triages patients and provides help, guidance and advice via telephone and face to face.
  • Develop knowledge of fertility treatments and care pathways.
  • Understand and adhere to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) Code of Practice.
  • Actively participate in audit and the quality management system.
  • Adhere to Trust values and vision.
  • Assist with the clinical management of the department and maintain effective communication to support patient centred care.
  • Manage time and resources efficiently and communicate effectively.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge and competence in Fertility nursing.
  • Provide support and guidance to untrained staff working in the ward/department.
  • Provide care for pre- and post-operative patients having oocyte collections or embryo transfers under sedation.
  • Participate in developing and auditing research-based practice to inform new guidelines and policies as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records reflecting current treatment and advice.
  • Develop good working relationships within the team and ward/department.
  • When acting as a link nurse, attend meetings and implement actions within remit.
  • When required, take charge of the ward/department as part of self-development.
  • Maintain NMC registration and conform to relevant NMC Codes of Practice and Advisory Papers.
  • The post holder may be required to work within any of the satellite or transport centres as required.
