Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Southend-on-Sea is looking for a passionate Chemotherapy Nurse to support cancer patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapy. The role involves developing clinical expertise in chemotherapy delivery through competency-based training and maintaining high standards of nursing care. Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for nurses interested in a career in Cancer Nursing. The Chemotherapy Nurse will support patients with a diagnosis of cancer undergoing systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT).

Responsibilities
  • Support patients receiving SACT.
  • Develop clinical expertise and professional knowledge in chemotherapy delivery through competency‑based training under the guidance of Chemotherapy Nurse Practitioners.
  • Work and act as a role model for professional practice, delivering high standards of nursing and supportive care to patients, families and carers.
  • Progress to a band 6 role upon successful completion of the 12‑24 month programme.
Qualifications & Experience

Applications are invited from enthusiastic registered nurses with at least one year of experience caring for patients with cancer in a general setting, who wish to develop their knowledge and skills within Oncology/Chemotherapy/SACT.

Training & Development

The training programme enables acquisition of clinical expertise through competency‑based training with support from Chemotherapy Nurse Practitioners and offers academic opportunities to study relevant cancer/chemotherapy courses that will contribute toward professional development.
