Job description

Our busy CYP Daycare and Outpatients sees over 6000 thousand patients a year, requiring systemic anti‑cancer therapy, radiotherapy, and supportive care, delivered by our team. The age range of our patients is 1 to 24 year old, making CYPDU a very unique unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital. Are you willing to get experience in areas of cancer care delivery and SACT administration, then we want to hear from you!

  • To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence‑led care to patients.
  • To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans.
  • To participate fully in the day to day organisation and running of clinical trials including the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a clinical trial and liaison as required with trial sponsors. We are looking for candidates that has the drive and passion to bring ideas forward, lead on projects to improve the patients journey through the service. The candidate will need a qualification in oncology or speciality as essential requirement for a Band 6, but we want to support you in this journey. The candidate will be expected to take an active role in the unit leadership in managing the service in line with the trust values and improvements both identified and to be identified. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills and will demonstrate consistent positive role modelling to support developing both the team and our pre and post registration placements.
