Staff Nurse Band 5, Coronary Care Unit – Fixed term 12 months

The closing date is 27 January 2026

Band 5 Staff Nurse, 37.5 hours per week, Coronary Care Unit, West Cumberland Hospital. Fixed term.

We are seeking a motivated registered Nurse to join our team.

We are an 8 bedded unit offering experience in Cardiology and also run the acute NIV service for the trust.

We’re looking for someone highly committed to best practice, able to work within a team environment, and with outstanding communication skills.

Main duties of the job
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice in the unit.
  • Support patients and their families during diagnosis and treatment.
  • Liaise with other departments at WCH and CIC to ensure the safe transfer of patients.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.

Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments may access an agreed preceptorship period.

Salary
