Job description
Overview

Opportunity: Multiverse, a thriving upskilling apprenticeship business, is launching a groundbreaking AI Adoption Platform as a startup within the company. Leveraging our existing customer base, intellectual property, and experienced team, the MVP has already shown 7x adoption in initial pilots by delivering personalized, role‑ and tool‑specific AI use cases and upskilling at scale. We are building a dedicated team to rapidly develop and scale this platform and are seeking pioneering individuals to drive its market success from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and shape the technical direction of a category‑defining product with proven initial traction into a greenfield UK market.
  • Build and architect the core systems and set the technical strategy that will enable the platform to scale.
  • Partner with the AI Adoption Team to build new features from scratch, iterate quickly based on customer feedback, and evolve the offer.
  • Lead the most complex and ambiguous technical challenges, breaking down large‑scale problems into clear, actionable plans for the team.
  • Act as a technical mentor and role model for other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and championing best practices.
  • Drive technical alignment across engineering, product, and design teams to build cohesive and powerful solutions.
  • Explore, prototype, and advocate for new technologies (including AI‑assisted tools such as Cursor or Gemini) while balancing speed of delivery with long‑term sustainability.
  • Champion innovation in partnership with partners and investors such as Index Ventures, Mary Meeker, and Martha Lane Fox.
Qualifications
  • Proven technical leadership with a track record of architecting, building, and operating complex, scalable systems from an early stage.
  • Deep expertise across our stack (Python, TypeScript, React, Elixir, AWS) and the ability to choose the right tool for the job.
  • 0‑to‑1 mindset: energized by ambiguity, thriving in environments with open‑ended briefs, and comfortable leading new product development.
  • Strategic and collaborative partnership skills, effectively working with peers, stakeholders, and leadership to make critical decisions.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and a passion for helping others grow their skills.
  • Pragmatic problem‑solving: an adaptable and curious approach, balancing technical excellence with practical needs of a fast‑moving business.
Benefits
  • 27 days holiday + 5 additional days: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company‑wide wellbeing days (M‑Powered Weekend) + 8 bank holidays per year.
  • Health & wellness: private medical insurance with Bupa, medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub, and access to Spill – a mental‑health support platform.
  • Hybrid workplace: collaborate in the London office 3 days per week and work‑from‑anywhere scheme.
