Overview

Shrewsbury School seeks to appoint a Sport Coach (Dance) on a fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. We are looking for candidates with experience of teaching to Intermediate level or beyond and hold an Advanced level qualification and a first aid qualification.

About the Dance Department

The Dance Department at Shrewsbury School is located in the newly built Barnes Theatre, which has two state-of-the-art drama and dance studios. Dance classes of many genres and standards are held throughout the week as part of the sports and activities programme. These classes are designed to either enhance the skills of those who have danced before, or to encourage those who haven’t danced to try something new.

Department Focus

The dance department is a big part of the Performing Arts at Shrewsbury School and continues to grow each year, with collaborations with the music department in annual concerts. Members of the dance department are dedicated to providing an enjoyable yet hard working environment for students at Shrewsbury School.
