A major healthcare provider in Scotland is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist on a fixed-term contract. This position focuses on managing communication and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient department, offering ample opportunities for professional development and mentoring. Candidates must hold a relevant degree and be registered with HCPC. The role requires teamwork and adaptability, with a shift pattern from Monday to Friday.

The shift pattern for this post will be Monday to Friday, consisting of 37 hours per week.
This post is fixed‑term contract with a duration of 5.5 months.
Please be advised that, effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist at Band 5 to join the Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapy Service within NHSGGC on a fixed term five and a half month contract. This five and half month contract will be based mostly within our busy acute inpatient department at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI). The post will focus on the assessment and management of communication and swallowing difficulties, supported by an excellent team of SLTs and Healthcare Support Workers who are motivated to achieve the best possible outcomes for all clients/carers.
The GRI is in a city centre location and has excellent public transport links by bus and train. The Adult Acute SLT Service is committed to offering all staff the opportunity to develop clinical skills with a varied caseload. We offer mentoring, personal development planning and supervision and an excellent range of opportunities for Continuing Professional Development.
The successful candidate will join our dynamic group of band 5 rotational team members. It is essential you have a Degree in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland check. You may be asked to work in other areas of the service or across other acute sites within NHS GGC as required. The post is part of a service that works 5 days over 7 with a rota for weekend and public holiday cover, with a typical shift pattern of 08.30‑16.30.
