Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6)

About the Role

As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

  • Assess, plan, and deliver therapy programmes tailored to pupils' individual communication profiles
  • Provide direct and indirect intervention using a range of approaches, including AAC systems (PECS, Makaton, high-tech devices)
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other therapists to embed communication strategies across the curriculum
  • Support staff and parents/carers with training, guidance, and advice to promote consistent communication support
  • Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, and progress reports
  • Supervise junior therapists or assistants as appropriate
