Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join our growing team at The Laurels Neurorehabilitation and Specialist Residential Service in Lincolnshire. You'll be working across both divisions of our neuro rehab centre, including our brand new Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) unit, an innovative and expanding area of our service.

We're looking for a Specialty Doctor with in-patient experience, ideally within a neuropsychiatric setting, to work closely with our Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, Consultant Neuropsychologist, Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, and full multidisciplinary team (MDT). Together, you will help deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the MDT in the holistic assessment and treatment of inpatients with FND
  • Participating in weekly ward rounds, risk assessments, and formulation-based treatment planning
  • Leading on the physical health assessment of newly admitted patients and liaising with primary and secondary care services as required
  • Attending and contributing to family meetings, case review meetings, and discharge planning meetings as required
  • Ensuring clinical documentation is robust and up to date, including the completion of timely discharge and transfer summaries
  • Practising evidence-based care through national standards and guidelines, including those from the FND Hope, NICE, and RCPsyc
  • Engaging in supervision with a designated Consultant Neuropsychiatrist
  • Preparing for and participating in external reviews (CQC and Quality Network reviews)
  • Participating in the on-call rota
Requirements:
  • MRCPsych (desirable, but not required)
  • Section 12 Approved (desirable but not required)
  • Evidence-based practice
  • Confidence in engaging internal and external stakeholders
  • Patient-centred, outcomes-based care
