A leading health organization in North Wales seeks a specialty doctor for its Ophthalmology team. The position entails patient examination and treatment, collaboration with a diverse team, and participation in medical audits. Applicants must have a minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience in Ophthalmology and be confident in anaesthetic skills. This 12-month role offers potential for permanent placement and requires a passion for helping others and contributing to a supportive work environment.
We are looking for a specialty doctor to join the Ophthalmology team in Ysbyty Gwynedd, North Wales for 12 months.
The department has individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and a family feel; we like to think that all are welcome here.
Despite being a smallish District General Hospital, we have a busy and varied workload, which peaks in the holiday seasons due to the influx of visitors to our beautiful National Park.
It is important to us that the successful candidate is a great team-player and confident in their anaesthetic skills, as they will be a key member of the overnight on-call team.
Living and working in such a rural area is not suitable for everyone and we intend to offer a one‑year contract to review and convert it into a permanent contract by mutual agreement.
The appointee will be involved with the examination and treatment of patients in the Ophthalmology Department and will also assist in the Eye Casualty on a regular basis.
The working week will comprise 10 programmed activities. Any changes to the working arrangements will be by means of discussion and agreement.
The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to further their career by developing a subspecialty interest of their choice.
