Job summary

A leading NHS trust in Spennymoor is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Community Adult Mental Health. The candidate will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team to provide clinical care for adults with mental health conditions. Responsibilities include assessments, medication management, and service improvement initiatives. Applicants must have an MB BS or equivalent qualification and substantial experience in psychiatry.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience, including 2 years in core psychiatry training.
• Approval under S12 of MHA or able to achieve within 6 months of appointment.
• Participated in continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct new patient assessments and follow-up clinics.
• Engage in MDT meetings and provide clinical leadership.
• Conduct mental health assessments under the Mental Health Act.

Skills

Knowledge of psychiatry

Clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective

Ability to manage clinical complexity

Education

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification

Fully registered with GMC

At least 4 years postgraduate experience

MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate qualification
