Job description
Overview

An alternative career path would be progression as a specialty doctor with the possibility of gaining a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) via Article 14 once requisite experience can be evidenced. The post-holder will work under the supervision of a consultant psychiatrist and be integral to a multidisciplinary team, accessing local CPD activities as appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, primarily focused on direct clinical care.
  • Collaborate closely with the consultant psychiatrist and the multidisciplinary team to provide clinical support for the assessment and management of mental health problems on both routine and emergency basis.
  • Provide care for patients in the community within the Luton CMHT area, operating under the Functional Model.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives as part of the Trust's Five Year Strategy, contributing to continuous service improvement.
Qualifications

This post is ideally suited for a Specialty Doctor who has a minimum of two years' experience in clinical psychiatry practice and is interested in a specialty doctor position in psychiatry outside of a training programme.
