Responsibilities


  • Deliver interventions in a classroom or individual and small group settings.

  • Use a range of multi-sensory approaches in Functional Skills and GCSE English and maths.

  • Prepare engaging, accessible learning materials, including digital resources.

  • Build bespoke learning plans tailored to individual needs that promote independent learning.

  • Monitor learner achievement and engagement.

  • Collaborate effectively with course tutors, the Exams Team, and parents/carers to support student success.

  • Train students and staff in the use of assistive technology.

English and Maths Extra supports and develops learners to become the best they can be, and we are looking for a specialist tutor to join our dynamic and forward‑thinking team. Specialist tutors deliver both English and maths to learners of varying age and ability. If you have a preference for either subject, we will try to timetable you according to your strengths when and where possible.


Qualifications


  • Excellent knowledge of GCSE and Functional Skills English and maths examinations.

  • Classroom teaching experience.

  • Knowledge of exam access arrangements.

  • Effective communication with colleagues and students.

  • PGCE or an alternative teaching qualification.

  • Level 5 or above qualification in teaching learners with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia or ADHD.

  • L7 Exams Access Arrangements qualification (CCET and C3PTA).
