Overview

Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SaLT) – Permanent opportunity. This can be a development post for a Band 5 to 6 Speech and Language Therapist. Working Pattern: 36 hours 40 minutes per week (Flexible working pattern will be considered).

Salary depending on experience: Band 5 Grade 5-6 SCP 18 27 (£31,536.89 - £38,220.00) or Band 6 Grade 7-8 SCP 28 36 (£39,152.00 - £47,180.98) (pro rata to hours and weeks worked).

Responsible to: Team Lead Speech and Language Therapist. This role is based within The Harmony Trust Northwest Hub, with opportunities to contribute across academies in the Northwest region.

As our Speech and Language Therapist, you will deliver high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services within our academies. You will work in close partnership with children, families, and education staff, supported by our dedicated Speech and Language Therapy Team, as well as colleagues from The Harmony Trust Inclusion Team and Development Team. This collaborative approach enables you to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative, impactful services that benefit the entire Trust community.

You will also offer supervision and guidance to fellow team members, including other Therapists and our Advanced Speech and Language Therapy Practitioners. You will have opportunities to work within our specialist Inclusion Hubs and mainstream classroom settings, helping shape how we deliver inclusive speech and language services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the needs of pupils and designing and implementing targeted intervention programmes.
  • Delivering and facilitating staff training.
  • Producing high-quality, evidence-based reports to inform practice and provision.
  • Providing supervision to fellow team members and contributing to service development.
  • Working across Inclusion Hubs and mainstream classrooms to deliver inclusive SLT services.
