Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development and delivery of a patient-focused clinical cancer pharmacy service.
  • Implement homecare pharmacy services for cancer services patients, enhancing patient care and comfort.
  • Actively contribute to the cancer services pharmacy team to achieve strategic objectives in pharmaceutical care.
  • Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical issues using advanced specialist knowledge in cancer care.
  • Support the Technical Services Unit by checking and releasing injectable medication prepared in the aseptic unit.
  • Collaborate with the clinical trials pharmacy team for the verification of clinical trials prescriptions.
  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities in medicines reconciliation and optimisation on the general wards.
  • Promote the safe, clinically effective, and cost-effective use of medicines throughout the hospital.
  • Conduct audits and research, offering pharmaceutical expertise to other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with formulary management and the introduction of new medicines within The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
Requirements

Current GPHC Registration is essential.
Previous experience working as a Pharmacist within a UK NHS Pharmacy setting.
A recognised Pharmacist qualification, NVQ or equivalent.
